If We Build It, They Will Come

We did it! The Preschool Room is all put together! Check out my link to the right (Bright Beginnings Preschool) to see a slide show of the finished product, read over the curriculum, daily schedule and what not. Now we just gotta spread the word so we can fill this cute room up with a bunch of cute kids who are excited to learn and have fun! Look... River's excited about it!

Baby Bear

We had such a fun weekend at the cabin (which happens to be named "Baby Bear"). It was soo nice to get out of the heat for a minute. The only bad news about the weekend was that Heaven and Meadow didn't want to miss one second, so they woke up every morning the instant the sun even thought about cracking (4:30 AM)! Even though we had tons of fun and were only gone a few days, the kids all agreed with Raven last night, as we were snuggling on our own couch, when he said, "There's no place like home!"

3 Months of Love

Secret is 3 months old today. She celebrated by learning how to suck on her tounge. I'm not exactly sure how she is doing it (and I must admit-it looks a little crazy). She's been trying to suck her thumb for a while now, but can't quite get it to fit in her mouth right. I guess time will tell if she follows in her big sisters footsteps and becomes a thumb-sucker, or branches out on her own and becomes our family's first "tounge-sucker".

Summer Lovin'

I'll be honest, I was a tad bit worried that we were going to have a long, hot summer with bored kids trapped at home. I am FOR SURE not up to running around town trying to entertain kids with a nursing baby and 4 other kid-lets. I have been pleasantly surprised by how much they are all just loving being home. Our day is run like a school: wake up, dive team, school work (yes, the mean mama makes the boys do a bit of learning, even in the summer), play out back with sprinklers, eat lunch, girls nap/boys read, art time, watch a movie, yay! Dad's home, dinner, something fun.. or not (depending on how tired we are) and bed. Every now and again, we get CRAZY and have friends over to play or go the the library for a magic show.

Purple!

We are practicing fun projects that I'm going to be doing with my preschool class this fall (by the way... Yes, I'm doing a preschool... Yes, I have openings and... Yes, It's going to ROCK!) So me and the kids made the color purple with shaving cream plus blue and red food coloring. Yah, I will be using A LOT less shaving cream when I make it with my class. Heaven ended up looking like Barney! The good news is, I really think she has a good understanding of what the color purple looks like!
